The Team
Managing Director: Phil Albutt

Phil Albutt came to Andover Norton through the
joining of BSA in Blockley under William Colquhoun and Andover Norton
International Ltd under Mike Jackson in the early 1990s.
Phil started
managing MZ UK, but, with the diminishing importance
of that operation over the years, gradually took over responsabilities in
the Commando Spares Operation.
With the sale of Andover Norton from
BSA Regal to Norton Motors Group in 2007 he became a Norton only man.
The only non-motorcyclist on the team, but
knowledgeable nonetheless, we did not sucede to make him see the light.
On 1st April 2013 he took over from Nick Hopkins as Managing Director,
having previously been the organizing spirit behind many projects, most
recently the move from Hungerford back to Andover.
Picture was taken in 2008 just after Phil fired his personal stylist.
His ample wages now allow him to go to a far more expensive stylist as you
can see on the group picture below, taken five years after this one was
taken.
Chief Buyer: Peter Morris

Peter Morris succeeded Robert M. Reynolds
on 3rd March, 2008. He is an engineer previously employed at
Norton Motors Ltd, and was involved in the development and production of
the Norton Rotary models in Shenstone. Apart from knowing his motorcycles
from the engineering point of view, on the drawingboard as well as
hands-on in the workshop, Peter is an all-weather motorcyclist.
In the true Norton Chief Buyer tradition, Pete is hard to photograph, but
not being as experienced as his teacher his picture could be taken from
a distance of less than 3 miles.
Stores Manager: Jim Knight

Jim started as packer with us with
our move to Hungerford in 2007.
He has since become a very competent team member, handling orders,
incoming goods, and stores supervision.
A very hard and conscientous worker his work ethics did not allow him to
take his eyes off his computer screen for the above portait.
Ordered to take part in group photographs he does not waste his energy for
a change of facial expression as can be seen from the 2008 and 2013
photographs below.
That facial expression also indicates he wants to return to work where he
can be caught smiling (!) on occassion (above)
Buyer/Technical Support: Keith
Calder

Keith joined Andover Norton in
November 2010. He has since had several functions- buyer, draughtsman,
workshop supervisor.
With the increasing production of sub-assemblies like complete clutches,
gearboxes, fork legs and forks his practical skills are bound to become
more and more important for us.
Though originally a car enthusiast he had rebuilt his father's Commando
before joining the team so knows Nortons from a rider's as well as a
mechanic's point of view.
Buyer: Simon Amos

Simon joined Andover Norton in
January, 2013. He has been in logistics all his working life.
He has owned Norton Commandos since the 1980s and currently owns three,
one in the middle of a rebuild. Simon is an all-weather motorcyclist.
He is to replace Nick in his purchasing function after Nick's retirement
in March, 2013.
Simon came from Honda, where he worked in a similar position.
The Whole Package in February 2008

All Team Members were herded into one
corner by Mick Duckworth in 2008, so here you have them all, including
the less important members.
Of the above group pictured six years ago all but one member who
retired are still with the company.
